Is there an unlimited eSIM for Mexico? What you really get
Updated on
In short
There is no unlimited full-speed plan for Mexico. The daily pass provides 1 GB each day, then slows to 1 Mbps; 15 days costs €43.90. Choose a fixed 10 or 20 GB bundle if you would rather use the allowance whenever you need it.
A laptop meeting can consume a noticeable share of the pool. Later, a ferry or no-signal road still needs the ticket and contact saved locally, regardless of the remaining gigabytes.
Mexico offers both fixed data and a daily pass
The current Mexico offer combines fixed bundles with a daily pass. Fixed bundles end at exhaustion; the pass renews an allowance each day and then continues at the stated slower speed until the next reset.
For work, video or connection sharing, compare the usage pattern rather than only the largest number. Mexico's size also separates allowance from network reach: spare data cannot fix a weak road, cenote or island signal. Store the route and booking before leaving town.

| Option | Data at available speed | Afterwards | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15-day daily pass | 1 GB/day | 1 Mbps until the next allowance | €43.90 |
| 30 days · 20 GB | 20 GB total | Package ends | €57.99 |
Do not buy the word unlimited. Check how much data runs at normal speed, what happens afterwards and whether connection sharing is allowed. In Mexico, protect part of the allowance for roads, ferries and the journey home.
Before flying: prepare these details
- Find the full-speed allowance instead of relying on the word unlimited.
- Check the reduced speed and when the allowance resets.
- Confirm whether connection sharing is allowed and shares the same limit.
- Save transfer contacts before taking a road or ferry.
Before taking a long road, ferry or cenote excursion, save tickets, the address and the transfer contact. Signal can be uneven on those stretches. Neither a daily pass nor 20 GB replaces that preparation when the signal disappears.
Does the Mexico eSIM continue after 20 GB?
That fixed bundle ends at exhaustion. Reduced-speed continuation belongs to the separate daily pass after that day's allowance is used.
Do 20 GB improve signal on Yucatán roads?
No. Allowance does not alter antennas. Check coverage and download the route before leaving.
Is the eSIM for Mexico truly unlimited?
Not at full speed: it includes 1 GB each day, then slows to 1 Mbps until the next day.
What happens when I use the allowance?
The daily pass continues at 1 Mbps; fixed bundles end when their gigabytes are used.
Does sharing the connection use the plan faster?
It can. Your phone and every connected device draw from the same data balance.
