15-day eSIM for Mexico: which plan should you choose?

Updated on 24 August 2026

In short

For 15 days in Mexico, I recommend 10 GB at €32.99 for normal use of maps, social media and calls. Choose 3 GB at €11.99 with daily Wi-Fi, or 20 GB at €57.99 for work, video or connection sharing.

Week one uses Mexico City transport and evening Wi-Fi. Week two adds Quintana Roo transfers and a ferry. Keeping a final reserve prevents the first round of videos consuming the airport budget.

Fifteen Mexican days need a budget by stage

A daily average hides peaks at arrival, domestic flights, road journeys, ferries and posting days. Split the route between Mexico City, Cancún and excursions first.

The small bundle can work with Wi-Fi and controlled habits; ten gigabytes provide social and calling room; twenty target work, video and connection sharing. All fixed options last up to thirty days, so no exact fifteen-day validity is required. Signal can still change between stages while allowance remains.

Do not choose around 30-day validity. Choose around what you will do during these 15 days: video, photo backup and connection sharing matter far more than opening a map. In Mexico, protect part of the allowance for roads, ferries and the journey home.

Before flying: prepare these details

  • Check the phone's mobile-data use from a previous trip.
  • Estimate video calls, uploads and connection sharing separately.
  • Install on Wi-Fi and retain the QR and setup instructions.
  • Check Telcel and AT&T maps for the route, not only the airport.

Before taking a long road, ferry or cenote excursion, save tickets, the address and the transfer contact. Signal can be uneven on those stretches. Keep some data for the final day of this 15-day route.

Can 3 GB last fifteen days in Mexico?

It can with Wi-Fi, offline maps and little video. Daily social use, calls or many road days may exceed it.

Does the bundle expire after day fifteen?

Not because the trip ends. Fixed bundles last up to thirty days and end on exhaustion or expiry under their conditions.

Can I use a 30-day plan for only 15 days?

Yes. Thirty days is the maximum validity; you can stop using it when your trip ends.

What if I run out of data before returning?

Fixed bundles end. The daily pass slows to 1 Mbps after 1 GB and resets the next day.

Do I need a different eSIM in every city?

No. The same eSIM works across Mexico wherever the plan's networks have signal.
