eSIM for Marrakech: what you need when you land

Updated on 24 August 2026

In short

You do not need a Marrakech-only tariff. The national plan works in the city and elsewhere wherever Orange Morocco is available. Three GB costs €8.99 for a short stay with Wi-Fi; for easier daily travel, I would choose 10 GB at €20.99.

After landing at Menara, the transfer ends at a square with several pedestrian lanes ahead. The traveller opens the offline map, confirms the door colour by message and keeps the same eSIM for the next day's excursion.

Marrakech requires a last-mile plan, not a city-only tariff

An ‘eSIM Marrakech’ search describes the arrival point, while the product remains a national Morocco plan on Orange Morocco. It can continue towards Fes, Casablanca or the Atlas without reinstalling.

The local difficulty is the medina: a car may stop before the riad and the visible name may not match the booking. A saved pin and phone number remain useful without service; live data adds real-time location sharing and new messages.

Save the address, pickup point and accommodation phone before flying. During the first hour, they are more useful than buying the largest €36.99 bundle. In Morocco, keep data for the medina and the return transfer.

Before flying: prepare these details

  • Download the Marrakech map and the first transfer before departure.
  • Save the accommodation address and phone outside email.
  • Keep the same country eSIM when continuing through Marrakech, Casablanca, Fes, Agadir, the Atlas and roads towards the desert.
  • Keep the riad, guide or driver number outside one application.

Before entering the Atlas or continuing towards the desert, download the route, booking and guide's phone number. More data cannot help on a stretch with no signal. Prepare it even if you only visit Marrakech; arrival leaves little room to improvise.

Does a Marrakech eSIM work in Essaouira or Fes?

It is a national plan and can work where Orange Morocco has service while allowance and validity remain.

How do I find a riad a car cannot reach?

Save the pin, written address and accommodation contact. An offline map covers the walk and data can confirm the last turn.

Does the same eSIM work outside Marrakech?

Yes. It is a national plan for Morocco, subject to coverage, remaining data and validity.

Will it work when I leave Marrakech airport?

It can connect wherever Orange Morocco has signal and the setup is correct. No eSIM can guarantee one gate or building.

When should I install it?

Before travelling, on stable Wi-Fi. Keep the email and instructions until the trip is over.
