Which eSIM to take to Türkiye
Updated on
In short
For most trips to Türkiye, choose 10 GB at €8.99 for maps, messages, social media and a few calls. Take 3 GB at €4.99 with regular Wi-Fi, or 20 GB at €16.99 for video, work or connection sharing. The listed networks are Vodafone Türkiye, depending on the plan.
Across Istanbul and Cappadocia, a fixed bundle can absorb more data on transfer day. The daily pass resets, but a large morning download can trigger the stated slower speed until the next cycle.
Türkiye offers a real choice between fixed and daily data
Türkiye has a day pass alongside fixed bundles. The comparison is not just about trip length: the pass refreshes an allowance each day and slows after it, while a fixed bundle can be distributed freely.
Someone with one very heavy video-call day may prefer the shared pool; someone wanting a predictable daily boundary may value the pass. Both use Vodafone Türkiye, and neither guarantees a particular 5G experience.

| Plan | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 30 days · 3 GB | €4.99 | Maps, messages and bookings with Wi-Fi |
| 30 days · 10 GB | €8.99 | Daily use, social media and internet calls |
| 30 days · 20 GB | €16.99 | Work, video or connection sharing |
| 7 days · 2 GB/day; then 512 Kbps | €13.99 | A fresh allowance each day, followed by reduced speed |
My recommendation: start with 10 GB. Drop to 3 GB when photos and video can wait for Wi-Fi; move to 20 GB when work or a laptop depends on the connection. In Türkiye, leave room for the correct airport and the Cappadocia transfer.
Before flying: prepare these details
- Count the periods without dependable Wi-Fi, not only the total days.
- Separate video calls, uploads and connection sharing from maps and messaging.
- Before paying, check that the phone supports eSIM and is not locked to one carrier.
- Distinguish IST from Sabiha Gökçen before saving the transfer.
Before travelling to Cappadocia or along the coast, save the route and accommodation name. You can then continue when the signal changes on the road. Choose the allowance for your usage; the saved map and bookings matter just as much.
How does the daily pass differ from fixed 10 GB?
The pass renews a daily allowance and slows after it; fixed data can be spent whenever needed until exhaustion or expiry.
Does the package include Turkcell as well as Vodafone?
The current plans list Vodafone Türkiye. Turkcell and Türk Telekom are separate local-SIM alternatives.
Which plan suits a normal trip to Türkiye?
Ten GB at €8.99 is a comfortable middle ground. With daily Wi-Fi and little video, 3 GB at €4.99 may be enough.
Does the eSIM include calls and SMS?
No. It is a data-only eSIM. You can keep your usual SIM for messages, but check possible roaming charges first.
Can I share the connection with another device?
Yes. Every connected device uses the same allowance, so keep an eye on data when a laptop is connected.
