15-day eSIM for China: which plan should you choose?

For 15 days in China, I recommend 10 GB at €13.99 for normal use of maps, social media and calls. Choose 3 GB at €5.90 with daily Wi-Fi, or 20 GB at €27.99 for work, video or connection sharing.
Before each train, the traveller stores the ticket, station name and hotel address, then reviews usage after week one and reduces video to preserve the Beijing reserve.
Fifteen Shanghai–Beijing days need online and offline plans
A two-week rail route accumulates translation, maps, tickets and changing hotels. The small bundle can work with Wi-Fi and downloads; ten gigabytes add room for searches and calls; twenty target video, work and connection sharing.
Thirty-day validity covers the calendar without a special fifteen-day option. Allowance solves only part of the journey: test every critical app and store each address in Chinese so a service or signal issue cannot block the next station.

Do not choose around 30-day validity. Choose around what you will do during these 15 days: video, photo backup and connection sharing matter far more than opening a map. In China, prepare the apps, tickets and Chinese addresses you will need before flying.
Before flying: prepare these details
- Check the phone's mobile-data use from a previous trip.
- Estimate video calls, uploads and connection sharing separately.
- Install on Wi-Fi and retain the QR and setup instructions.
- Test required applications before relying on them after landing.
Save tickets, addresses in Chinese and offline translation. Having mobile data does not ensure that every app you normally use will be available in China. Keep some data for the final day of this 15-day route.
Are 10 GB enough for fifteen days in China?
They may cover maps, translation, messages and moderate calls. Video, connection sharing and photo backup can require more.
Do I need another eSIM between Shanghai and Beijing?
No. The national package can continue where its listed networks are available while data and validity remain.
Can I use a 30-day plan for only 15 days?
Yes. Thirty days is the maximum validity; you can stop using it when your trip ends.
What if I run out of data before returning?
Fixed bundles end. The daily pass slows to 1 Mbps after 1 GB and resets the next day.
Do I need a different eSIM in every city?
No. The same eSIM works across China wherever the plan's networks have signal.
